Dr. Rakesh Kakkar, Professor and Head, Department of Community and Family Medicine, Bathinda, All India Institute of Medical Sciences. He has been the editor of the IAPSM textbook of community medicine, editor of the Indian Journal of Community Health (IJCH), listed in more than 100 indexing databases, and for the past 8 years has been treasurer, IPHA-UK chapter and chairman of the National Annual Scientific Committee. Member of the Editorial Board of the Health Line IAPSM GC Chapter and the Indian Journal of Community and Family Medicine.
He has been actively involved in the IPHA activities for several years and has worked together to nurture the UK IPHA chapter. He has conducted more than 40 research projects and has been the chief investigator of several research projects funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research. Her work primarily focuses on health system research, tuberculosis and geriatric health.
He has more than 60 publications and 10 book chapters in national and international journals. He has served as a resource person for several national and international training assignments and has presided over various national and international conferences.
She has received the prestigious IAPSM “Presidential Appreciation Award” for her contributions to IAPSM in the Faculty category and recognition of her outstanding work in the field of Community Medicine in the Faculty category.
He is a life member of many professional organizations / public health associations. IEA, Indian Red Cross Society, IEA, IAPSM, IPHA, World NCD Federation, Nutrition Society of India, ISMS, EFI, IJCH and NIHFW Journal and many other associations.
