Madhu Gupta is qualified in MD (Community Medicine), PhD (Health, Medicine and Life Science, Maastricht University, Maastricht, The Netherlands). Her present designation is Professor of Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh. She has 19 years of teaching and research experience post MD. Her areas of expertise are Reproductive Maternal and Child Adolescent health, Vaccinology, Health Inequalities. She has a total of 137 publications [Scientific research papers:114; preprints:6; Op-ed:5; Chapters in books:11; Book:1]. Her Research Projects are a total of 58, including 16 vaccine trials [PI: 40; CI:18]. She is a member of Subgroup on Maternal Immunization, National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI), New Delhi; State Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (STAGI), Haryana; State Expert Committee on Adverse Events Following Immunization in Haryana; Technical Advisory Group (TAG) on Containment of Antimicrobial Resistance in Haryana; State Technical Committee, Anaemia Mukat Bharat, Haryana, State Task Force, Immunization, Maternal Health, Chandigarh. She has held important positions like in COVID-19 Asia Pacific Regional Advisory, Janssen Asia Pacific, 2021 as Advisory Board Member; in the 48th National Conference of IAPSM, PGIMER, 2021 as the Co-Organizing Secretary; National Platform for Vaccine Confidence, 2021 as the Co-Secretary, in the National Vaccinology Course, PGIVAC as the Chief Coordinator; IPHA local Chapter PGIMER, 2016-19 as an Executive Member and as a Joint Secretary of 21st Joint NZIAPSM and IPHACON, PGIMER, 2017. She has acted as the Editor of BMC Public Health (as an Associate); PLOS One (as an Academic) and Frontiers in Public Health (as Co Guest Editor). She has been honored as one of the Humans of 2020 globally during Covid-19 pandemic by an international network VICE. She has won Dr RN Roy Best Paper Award for the best paper published in Indian Journal of Public Health, 2017. She has acted as the Principal Investigator (PGI) of COVISHIELD vaccine trial sponsored by ICMR, New Delhi, and SII Pune. 2020-21. She has received an Appreciation award on Annual Research Day, 2017 for producing high quality research, in PGIMER.
